The Degree Symbols

The Degree Symbols    There are three Freemasonry degree or levels. They are Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and Master Mason. Each degree has its symbol with a unique display of the square and compass. Entered Apprentice The symbol of the Entered Apprentice degree shows both legs of the compass lying under the square.  This degree stands for youth . It means that the Entered Apprentice does not yet know how he can circumscribe his passions on the square of virtue. The Entered Apprentice degree is a pledge of your word. Fellowcraft   The Fellowcraft degree has a symbol showing the left leg of the compass lying on top of the square. The right leg of the compass is lying under the square.  This degree stands for manhood . The degree indicates that the Fellowcraft is halfway towards mastering control over himself, his desires and his passions. The Fellowcraft degree is an obligation of your spirit.
